As of the 2009-2010 school year, the Wilmington Educational Foundation offers, in support of the public schools in Wilmington, the grant opportunities described below.  As the WEF board refines the process for making grant awards, this list will be revised and communicated to members of the Wilmington school system and the community at large:

Technology Minigrant Program (Application period Closed)

The Technology minigrant program affords faculty the opportunity to evaluate hardware and software applications for their applicability and usefulness in tying student learning to established state education standards and benchmarks.  For more information and to view the application, please click here.

School Grant (Application period Closed)

The School Grant program is designed to encourage, support and enable creative and innovative educational initiatives by the Wilmington Public Schools.  It is intended to be a funding source of up to $3,000 for awarded grant recipients.  Each of the eight schools in Wilmington has the opportunity to apply for a School Grant, which should enhance community building and collaborative educational programs and promote innovation in learning and teaching.  To learn more about the School Grant program please click here, and to view the application, please click here

Fund for Teachers (Application period closed)

The Fund for Teachers program is a partnership between WEF and the Fund for Teachers Foundation, based in Houston, Texas, which provides funds for direct grants to teachers to support self-designed summer learning and exploration.  This program grants funding for teachers to pursue summer growth experiences, tied closely to established grade curriculum, which they can then use in their classrooms to enhance and expand the effectiveness of their teaching.  To learn more about the Fund for Teachers program, and to view the application, please click here.
